生命感のあるしなやかなシルエットは、視覚的美しさを感じさせる最も大きな要素のひとつです。一方、実際に作られたもののみならずフィクションにおいてまで、ロボットは硬くてごつごつした機械としてイメージされがちです。本作品は、柔軟素材を原料に使う3Dプリント技術を活用したロボットであり、滑らかな輪郭を保ったまま変形する動く彫刻です。機械がもっとしなやかになったとき人工物の在り方はどのように広がりうるか、その可能性を探るプロトタイプです。

A supple, lifelike silhouette is one of the most important elements that contribute to visual beauty. On the other hand, robots, both in reality and in fiction, are often imagined as rigid, clunky machines. This work is a robot created using 3D printing technology with flexible materials, and is a moving sculpture that deforms while maintaining a smooth outline. It is a prototype that explores the possibilities of what artificial objects can be when machines become more flexible.
