「Aimulet LA」は、光によって駆動されるバッテリー不要のカードサイズの小型携帯音声通信デバイスである。このデバイスは、愛知万博2005の日本庭園内のアートインスタレーションの音声ガイド端末として採用された。「Aimulet LA」は、12個のSphelarソーラーセル、セラミックスピーカー、および抵抗器から構成されている。地面に配置されたLEDエミッターから、音声信号を載せた赤外線レーザー光が放射され、それをソーラーセルで受光して音声に変換する。ユーザーは、端末を携帯電話のように耳に当ててそれを聞く。この受信装置はバッテリーも複雑な回路も必要ないため、安価で環境への負荷が小さい。さらに、環境への配慮から、外部シェルはプラスチックではなく、再資源化の容易な「竹シート」をプレス成形して製造された。このプロジェクトは、2006年にグッドデザイン賞のエコロジーデザイン賞（経済産業大臣賞）を受賞した。

Aimulet LA is a batteryless, card-sized compact and light-activated handheld audio communication device. It was used in the Laurie Anderson’s Walk project as a part of her artistic installation in a Japanese Garden of the Aichi EXPO 2005. The terminal of Aimulet LA is composed of twelve Sphelar solar cells and a ceramic speaker, and a shunt resistor. From the LED emitters positioned on the ground, infrared laser light carrying audio signals is emitted. This terminal receives the light through solar cells and converts it into sound. Outer shell of the Aimulet LA is made of molded bamboo sheet instead of plastic polymer for ease of recycling. This terminal is manufactured as a give-away souvenir for the visitors of the Aichi EXPO 2005.
