ON THE FLY
このプロジェクトは、当時はまだ一般的でなかった「プロジェクションマッピング」という技術の先駆けだったと言える。このナビゲーションシステムは非常に好評で、現在もさまざまな展覧会やイベントで使用されている。

This project is the navigation design for the "Minimum Interface" exhibition, which took place at the YCAM (Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media) in Japan from 2008, to 2009. In this exhibition, navigation design was of paramount importance in terms of creating a new connection between artwork and the audience through a meta-interface. To fulfill this need, Hisato Ogata designed a single sheet of paper, which served as a minimal navigation tool in itself, namely the exhibition's flyer.
When visitors placed this paper on any of the three navigation tables within the exhibition area, it seamlessly aligned with projected visuals, giving the impression that a simple sheet of paper had suddenly transformed into a display. Furthermore, the paper featured 16 holes, which acted as switches, allowing access to information about the exhibition and the artworks by covering specific holes with a finger.
It's worth noting that this project was a pioneering application of the "projection mapping" technology, which was not yet widely known at the time. This navigation system received significant acclaim and continues to be used in various exhibitions and events.
