KOKUYO AVEIN
オフィスチェアは、ワークスペースの環境の多様化により、人の多様な姿勢や動きにもっと柔軟に寄り添うことが求められている。アヴェインの基本構造は、こうした変化に対応したものであった。この作品は、2009年のグッドデザイン賞（日本）および2010年のIF Design Award（ドイツ）を受賞した。

Avein is an office chair that incorporates uniquely developed air cushions that match the contours of the human body. Multiple air cushions – two on the top and bottom of the chair back and two on the front and rear of the seat – distribute air between each other to disperse body pressure according to the human posture, supporting the pelvis and spine to achieve a comfortable fit unlike any other. The flow of air is like the breathing of a living creature. The large aluminum shell, which is designed using high-grade curved surface molding to incorporate the chair’s reclining mechanism, makes it look like an artifact from the future where objects become one with the body.
With the diversification of workspace environments, office chairs are required to be more flexible and adaptable to people’s variable postures and movements. Avein’s structure was designed in response to these changes.
Aein has been honored with Good Design Award 2009 and IF design award 2010.
